Other artists advised me to choose the largest option within my budget. With a limited amount of savings, it was a choice between going big or going small and thinking, I'll buy big later. This was a once-in-a-lifetime purchase, so I took the plunge. I ended up with the Even Heat Pro 41. Thanks to my husband Bill, it now has a secure spot in our basement studio.
It was time to name the kiln, and I found myself inspired by one of my favorite series, Dexter. The show features a captivating protagonist—a serial killer who targets only those who truly deserve it. In many ways, he represents a form of twisted heroism. The fiery flames of the kiln remind me of my favorite season, which also concluded in a spectacular blaze. Thus, the name Dexter seemed fitting.
